The whole process of making this film has been a learning curve the whole way through. From learning about my genre, to filming and editing it, I have learned a lot about the film industry as a whole. It allowed me to understand what it takes to produce a film and learn more about the film conventions.

Hi Guys, I forgot to post my final story board. Due to social distancing measures I had to refine parts of my film and instead of having a female actor, I had a male, my brother.

At the end of my film, I have a short narration by my main character. The purpose of the script is to begin the narration, like most teen comedy films do, about the teenagers life and a little synopsis of him. Here is the script: Hey, my name is Joshua. I'm pretty popular at school, and the captain of the basketball team. Everyone seems to love me and think my life is perfect, but little do they know, I'm still figuring it out.

Since I am working on my film alone and do not have any partners, I decided to have my brother play as the protagonist. I made sure to pick an outfit that reflected the 20th century fashions that teenagers wear, so that it seems realistic. I wanted my main character to seem like the typical high school male that Hollywood portrays in the teen comedy genre. In my film, I wanted my main character to seem like the average high school kid that drives to school and plays sports. To achieve this, I featured clips of him driving in a car leaving the school grounds, he had his keys in hand, and was carrying a basketball as well. All of these props helped add to the validity of the film. When the main characters arrives home, he steps out of his car and makes sure to take a shot at his basketball hoop before entering the house. My filming process took two days, where the first day was used to gather my scenic clips, and the second was used to capture the main character. Luckily, I live in south Florida where it is always sunny, so I had beautiful natural lighting which was used all throughout my film. I wanted to give the audience a great view of the suburban neighborhood that the main character lives in. Most teen comedies are shot in typical suburban neighborhoods, so I wanted to capture that in my film. On the first day, I stopped by a shopping strip called the Shops of Pembroke Gardens. It is modern, middle class shopping strip with nice scenery. I made a stop by my high school to capture the daily school if of teenager. Although the whole city, stores, and school was shutdown due to COVID-19, I still needed to capture certain places to set the setting in my film. So I had to make sure that I took extra precautions when going to these areas, practice social distancing, and make sure that I was wearin...

Since my film genre is teen comedy, I have to use music that provides the audience with the nostalgic teen experience. One of the conventions of teen comedy is upbeat pop music, most teen comedies start off with a scene of the protagonist at school, in bed, or shots of the city that the film is taking place in. My film will begin with scenery shots with royalty free music that fits the theme, playing in the background. Throughout the film, I will lower the sound of the background music so that the audience can hear some of the original sounds in the film, such as a car tiring screeching and the bouncing of a basketball.
