Day of Photography

Hello Everyone!
A few days ago, my friends and I were given an assignment to take 11 photos, each using different camera angles that we learned about in the previous class. I was pretty excited to put my skills to the test and actually perform hands-on work, rather than just taking notes on it. Some shots were a little harder to achieve than others, however, this assignment helped me to distinguish the differences between each camera angle, and also gave me taste of what it is like to perform the task. Here are a couple of my favorites!

Over-the-Shoulder Shot
The Over-the-Shoulder shot is widely used to show a connection between two subjects or characters. To achieve this shot, we ran into two students that were in their Physical Education class, and we positioned them to take this shot. I think this shot also adds an element of emotion and makes the viewers wonder about the characters' state of mind.

Aerial Shot
My classmates and I ran into some issues such as height, while trying to achieve this shot. We decided to have someone stand at the top of the stairs, while someone else stood at the bottom, obtaining an aerial view of what was going on down below.

 Wide Shot
This shot is one of my favorites because it has a dramatic element to it. The gray cement walls, dim lighting, and clothing give it a somewhat gloomy and melancholic feeling. Since the photo subject is also alone in the image, I feel that it also adds to those elements.

Extreme Close-Up
This photo is an extreme close-up. This technique is used to capture intense detail, and this image shows just that! From the eyebrow hairs, to the eyelash stuck to the eyeglass lens, you can see every detail in this picture.
